Jean Brinton Jaecks is a visual artist working in watercolor, oil, and egg tempera on vellum with gold and silver leaf. Her master's thesis at George Washington University, “A Garden Near and Far," was a celebration of her garden in both words and paint. Jean has taught painting at the U.S. Botanic Garden in partnership with the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, D.C., St. John’s College in Annapolis, the U.S. National Arboretum, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Today, Jean is quietly gardening and painting on her two-acre Chesapeake watershed property.
