A native of Washington, D.C., Najwa F. Womack is the Founder and CEO of SiStained8, a creative compost education and supplies company based east of the river in D.C., where her father, aunties and uncles were raised. Najwa blends her passion for performing arts and global experiences to inspire earth-saving behaviors and creatively promote environmental awareness using the vehicle of traditional aerobic composting. Najwa holds a B.A. in International Studies and Development and later obtained a Master's Urban Compost Certificate with DC's Department of Parks and Recreation in 2018. In 2024, SiStained8 won DC's Department of Energy and Environment's District Sustainability Award. Lastly, as an Advocate of Compost with the U.S. Composting Council (2021), Najwa is committed to creatively expanding traditional composting efforts locally, nationally, and globally.
