Dr. Jennifer Riehl bridges the social and biological aspects of forested landscapes to promote environmental stewardship. She studied how the genetics of oak and aspen trees help them adapt to their environments and also explored the ways social conditions affect on-the-ground conservation and management from endangered species protection to wildfire mitigation. Her academic experience showed her the importance of fostering spaces for people of different expertise and background to work together.
