Dr. Alex Lowe is a Deep Time Peter Buck post-doctoral fellow in the National Museum of Natural History. He is a paleobotanist fascinated by earth history and studying how global climate events during the Miocene (~17-10 million years ago) impacted ancient temperate deciduous forests in the U.S. Pacific Northwest. He received his doctorate at the University of Washington, master’s degree at Brandon University, Manitoba, Canada, and bachelor’s degree in Geology at University of Utah, but grew up nearby in Richmond, Virginia.
