About the presenter

Dr. John Herlihy
Dr. John Herlihy has spent over ten years researching the science and regulation of agricultural biotechnology. As he studied about the potential of these technologies at Virginia Tech he became curious about public resistance to genetic engineering and how burdensome regulation can stymie innovation. He came to Washington on a AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellowship to help implement Bioengineered Food Labeling, and work at the intersection of science, policy, and society within our food system.
