Thinking of bringing 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade students to the U.S. Botanic Garden? In this professional development workshop, our Conservatory will become an extension of your classroom. You’ll take a close look at plants with fascinating adaptations and walk through how USBG Educators help students understand the connection between form, function, and environment. Teachers will explore the Conservatory and learn how our horticulture experts use scientific thinking every day to inform the care and cultivation of a diverse global plant collection. Finally, you’ll discuss ways to craft a memorable, standards-aligned Garden visit using resources developed to support teachers and their students during self-guided field trips. Lunch will be provided.
