Dive into history as the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center and United States Botanic Garden explore the road leading up to America’s 1876 Centennial Expo in Philadelphia, the grandeur and excitement of the many creations on display, and the legacy that continues to today. We’ll share the parallel story of Frederic Auguste Bartholdi as he created the Bartholdi Fountain for the 1876 Expo that stands in the USBG today, his famous Statue of Liberty, and more. Learn about the CVC’s “Spirit of ’76” exhibit currently on display and the heritage of the Bartholdi Fountain at the USBG in this lively exploration of the events surrounding America’s 100th anniversary celebrations and how they live on today.
