Xavier Brown is the Urban Waters Ambassador/Director of Community-to-Career Partnerships in the Office of the President at the University of the District of Columbia. He is UDC's "boots on the ground" in supporting the environmentally focused Anacostia High School redesign and driving UDC's overall education partnership efforts with the Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE), the schools in the Anacostia High School feeder pattern and other schools in Ward 8, the District of Columbia Public Schools, and community leaders and residents in Ward 8. Brown also serves as the Anacostia Ambassador in the Urban Waters Federal Partnership. Before joining UDC, Xavier founded Soilful, an organization dedicated to reconnecting African Americans to their agricultural roots, and co-founded Black Dirt Farm Collective, an organization dedicated to supporting emerging Black farmers and growers in the Mid-Atlantic.
